Abstract :Özet Modern dönemin temellerinin atıldığı on yedinci yüzyılda, maddeci ve deneyci bir filozof elinde yeni bir ahlâk düşüncesi şekillenmiştir. Bu düşünceye göre tıpkı bir madde gibi temel kanunları keşfedilebilir olan insanın her davranışının temelinde, “kendini koruma içgüdüsü” bulunmaktadır. Bu içgüdüyle hareket eden insanlar, devlet olmadığı sürece birbirlerinin kurdu olacaklardır. Bu makale, böyle bir insan anlayışına sahip olan Thomas Hobbes’un insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(1588-1679);, Leviathan adlı temel eseri çerçevesinde inşâ ettiği ahlâk felsefesine dair genel bir bilgi vermeyi amaçlamaktadır. Abstract As the foundations of the modern period were established during 17th century, a materialist and empiricist philosopher developed a new ethical theory. According to this theory, every behavior of human beings, which are subject to natural laws just like material beings, results according to the natural human “instinct of self-protection.” Human beings, who behave according to this instinct, act violently as such that they turn into a worm for one and another, unless there is a state regulating their actions.
