Abstract :Öz Teftâzânî’nin Mutavvel adlı eseri, Osmanlı medreselerinde yüzyıllar boyunca belâgat öğretiminin temel kaynaklarından biri olarak kabul edilmiştir. Çeşitli imtihanlarda soru kaynağı olarak da kullanılmış olması, eserin oldukça titiz bir şekilde okunmasına vesile olmuştur. Bu makalede, Mutavvel’de geçen bir bahsi, elli soru çerçevesinde tartışarak müzâkere eden bir risâleden hareketle, eserin medreselerde nasıl ve hangi gözle okunduğu konusunda bir fikir verilmeye çalışılacaktır. Mutawwal as a Book on Arabic Eloquence and A Tractate on the Reading Style in Ottoman Madrasas Abstract For centuries, Teftâzânî’s Mutawwal was regarded as one of the main sources of the teaching Arabic eloquence in Ottoman madrasas. In addition, usage of Mutavval like a source of question bank in various examination lead it to be meticulously read. In this article, based on a tractate containing fifty questions analysing Mutawwal, we will try to give an idea about the book how it was read and taught in Ottoman madrasas.
