Abstract :Özet Geç Ortaçağ, Avrupa için bir doruk noktası olarak kabul edilebilir. Çünkü bu dönemde üç büyük önemli gelişme olmuştur. Bunlardan birincisi, Avrupa`daki kent faktörünün ortaya çıkmasıdır. İkincisi ticaretin canlanması ve tüccar sınıfının güçlenmesidir. Üçüncüsü ise eğitim alanındaki gelişmelerdir. Özellikle de farklı yapılara sahip üniversitelerin kurulmasıdır. Biz bu makalemizde, Batı toplumunu her açıdan etkileyen ve sonraki dönemlerde Rönesans`ın oluşumuna zemin hazırlayan üniversite anlayışını genel olarak anlatmaya çalıştık. Anahtar Kelimeler: Geç Ortaçağ, Avrupa, Üniversite, Kent.   Abstract It is accepted that the late middle ages are a peak point for Europe. Because in this period, three big improvements were happened. First of these was appearing of the city factor.Second waslivening of the trade and growing power of the class of the Merchant. Three was the improvements in the education. Espicially the univercities that have differant structures were esteblished. In this paper, we studied to tell generally the understanding of the univercity that affected the West society from every angle and later prepared the ground of Renaissance.
