Abstract :In this study, some physical properties of the Korpe and Zafran stones insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Elazig);, Yesilyurt stone insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Malatya);, Nemrut, Karadag and Ali dağ stones insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Adiyaman); and Urgup stones insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Nevsehir); which have been used extensively as a building material in cities and even in neighbour cities. They have gained a great repulation among the people due to their ease of handling and thermal characteristics were investigated. The objective here is to determine what kind of properties these stones had as a building material. With this objective, samples of stones from two separete source were taken. Some tests applied to the samples were compared with similar building materials by determining the thermal and mechanical properties of the resultant stones.
