Abstract :Air pollution represents a critical and pervasive threat to pediatric health, with consequences extending from gestation through adolescence and into adulthood. This commentary synthesizes current evidence on the detrimental effects of both ambient and household air pollution on child development. Exposure to pollutants such as particulate matter (PM₂.₅, PM₁₀), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), and ozone (O₃) during critical windows of vulnerability—characterized by rapid organ development and immature detoxification pathways—inflicts a significant burden of disease. The spectrum of morbidity is vast, encompassing teratogenic effects leading to congenital anomalies (cardiovascular, orofacial, urogenital, nervous system), respiratory illnesses (pneumonia, asthma, wheezing), and immune dysregulation manifesting as allergic diseases (eczema, rhinitis). These are not transient conditions but chronic inflammatory states that establish a trajectory of poor health, increased healthcare dependency, and diminished lifelong potential. Addressing this silent public health emergency requires a multifaceted approach. Empowerment of parents and caregivers through education on mitigation strategies must be supported by systemic change. Healthcare providers must integrate environmental health into clinical practice and advocacy. Ultimately, governmental policymakers bear the greatest responsibility to enact and enforce stringent air quality standards, invest in monitoring infrastructure, and facilitate a large-scale transition to clean energy and household fuels. safeguarding children\\\'s health from air pollution is a profound moral imperative and the most critical investment in our collective future. Keywords : Çocuk çevre sağlığı, hava kirliliği, çocuk, konjenital anomali, Önleyici pediatri
