Abstract :Newborn hearing screening is absolutely crucial in early diagnosis of congenital hearing loss. The values of newborn congenital hearing loss change ranging from 0.13-0.60% for bilateral hearing loss and change ranging from 0.17 to 0.38% for unilateral hearing loss after hearing screening. The children’s speech and language development which have hearing loss particularly affected. As well as the child`s social, emotional and mental development are affected in varying degrees. The early diagnosis and treatment of infants with hearing loss could be allowed by routine newborn hearing screening. Materials and Methods: The newborn hearing screening results of Ordu University Faculty of Medicine Research and Training Hospital were presented in this study. Results: Bilateral hearing loss has been detected in 7 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(0.14%); babies. Unilateral hearing loss has been detected in 5 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(0.11%); babies. This total hearing loss of 12 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(0.25%); patients ratio was consistent with the literature.
