Abstract :ÖZET Bu araştırma, meslek yüksekokulunda öğrenim gören öğrencilerin duygusal zekâ düzeylerini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın modeli, mevcut durumu ortaya koyması bakımından betimseldir. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Artvin Çoruh Üniversitesi bünyesinde bulunan meslek yüksekokullarında öğrenim gören öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Bu araştırmada veriler Duygusal Zekâ Değerlendirme Ölçeği kullanılarak elde edilmiştir ve 360 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Duygusal Zekâ Değerlendirme Ölçeği ile elde edilen verilerin aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma ve yüzde dağılımı gibi betimsel istatistikleri hesaplanmıştır. Öğrencilerin duygusal zekâ düzeylerinin cinsiyetlerine göre karşılaştırılmasında ilişkisiz örneklemler için t-testi uygulanmıştır. Öğrencilerin duygusal zekâ düzeylerinin yaşlarına ve MYO‘larına göre karşılaştırılmasında ise ilişkisiz örneklemler için Kruskal Wallis H-Testi uygulanmıştır. Analiz sonuçlarına göre, Meslek Yüksekokulu ö ğ rencilerinin duygusal zekâ düzeylerinin, ortalama “normal” olarak değerlendirildiği görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin duygusal zekâ düzeylerinin yaşlarına ve cinsiyetlerine göre anlamlı biçimde farklılaştığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Duygusal Zekâ, MYO öğrencileri   ABSTRACT This research was conducted to investigate students’ emotional intelligence levels in vocational school of higher education. The model of the research is descriptive in terms of presenting the current situation. The sample was composed of students who are trained in vocational school of higher educationin Artvin Coruh University. This study was conducted by using the Emotional Intelligence Assessment Scale and the scale was administered to 360 students.. Descriptive statistics such as arithmetic mean, standard deviation and percentage distribution of the data obtained by the Emotional Intelligence Assessment Scale were calculated. For comparison of emotional intelligence levels of students according to gender, independent samples t-test was applied and for comparison of the students` emotional intelligence levels according to their ages and departments, Kruskal Wallis H-Test was applied. According to the results of the analysis, it was seen that the emotional intelligence levels of the vocational high school students were evaluated as `normal`. The emotional intelligence levels of the students were found to be significantly different according to their age and gender. Key Words : Emotional Intelligence, Vocational College Students.
