Abstract :Literary text analysis is conducted not only by considering the author’s personal life or the characteristics of the period in which it was written, but also by examining the elements that make up the text. Space is a crucial element in literary text analysis. Space animates the fiction of the literary text in terms of physical qualities and plays a role in the transformation of the heroes. Of course, space is not treated with the same degree of importance and purpose in every literary text. However, there are many literary works where the place deepens the meaning of the text, has a guiding effect on the heroes, and allows an important bond to be set up between the work and the reader. Melisa Kesmez’s literary work “Nohut Oda” can also be considered in this context. In this study, first of all, the meanings of space in various sources as an element of literary fiction are mentioned. Then, in the study, the house space, which is considered as a heroic element in the “Nohut Oda” stories, was examined comparatively. The five stories in the work were grouped under two different subheadings by figuring out common themes. In Kesmez’s stories, in which she assigns different missions to the home, it will be shown how the home plays a leading role when the transformations, regrets or future plans of the hereos are explained. In the stories where the home is treated as a perceptual space, it is aimed to show how the place becomes a heroic element by being incorporated into the fiction.
