Abstract :Sentetik bir şeker olan ve `bifidus faktörü` olarak adlandırılan laktuloz, galaktoz ve fruktozdan meydana gelen bir disakkarittir. Sindirim sisteminin üst kısımlarında sindirilmeden kalın bağırsaklara geçerek Bifidobacterium `larınçoğalmasını teşvik eder. Böylece birçok yararlı fizyolojik özellik gösteren laktuloz özellikle son yıllarda gıda ve farmakoloji endüstrisinde kullanılmaktadır.
