Abstract :Bu çalışmada, klasik tip buharlı kereste kurutma fırınları için bir ön kurutma teşkil edecek olan güneş enerjili havalı kolektörlü kurutucu tasarlanmış ve imal edilmiştir. Kerestede bulunan serbest haldeki nemin bu tip bir kurutucuda kontrollü olarak uzaklaştırılması ile klasik buharlı tip kurutma fırınlarının çalışma süresi azalalacak ve enerji tasarrufu sağlanacaktır. Kurutma sisteminde, kavak keresteleri %80 gr su/ gr kuru madde nem değerinden, %20 gr su/gr kuru madde nem değerine, 13 saatte getirilmiştir. Aynı sistemde çam keresteleri ise %110 gr su/gr kuru madde nem değerinden %20 gr su/ gr kuru madde nem değerine 19 saatte indirgenmiştir.
