Abstract :Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi TIP FAKÜLTESİ DERGİSİ: 1995 Mart; 2insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(1); Gastrointestinal Karsinoid Tümörler Ekmel Tezel Mehmet Kürşat Bozkurt Neşet Hayri Gökok Özet Karsinoid tümörler, appendiks ve Ucumun en sık görülen tümörleri olmasına rağmen, genel popülasyonda nadir görülürler. Yavaş gelişim gösterirler ve yıllarca klinik bulgu vermezler. Tedavisi esas olarak cerrahi olmakla birlikte ilerlemiş olgularda adjuvan kemoterapi ya da hepatik arteriyel embolizasyon da gerekir. Bu derlemede son yıllardaki gelişmeler kısaca gözden geçirilmiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Karsinoid tümör, gastrointestinal sistem. Abstract Gastrointestinal Carcinoid Tumors Carcinoid tumors which ar e the commonest tumor s of the appendix and ileum, are rarely seen in general population. They are slow growing tumors and may remain asymptomatic for many years. The treatment of choice is surgical resection; however the adjuvant chemotherapy or hepatic arterial embolization may be required in advanced cases. In this paper, recent advances are briefly reviewed. Key Words: Carcinoid tumor, gastrointestinal system
