Abstract :The 3D approach was employed for investigations of the stability loss of the cylinder with circular cross section fabricated from the viscoelastic composite materials. This approach is based on the investigations of the development of the initial infinitesimal imperfections of the cylinder within the scope of the 3D geometrically nonlinear field equations of the theory of the viscoelasticity for anisotropic bodies. The numerical results on the critical forces and critical time are presented and discussed.
