Abstract :Summary: This article aims at revealing the characteristic features of the play Ferhat and Şirin by Nazım Hikmet, by taking the playwright`s ideas on the arts and theatre as the starting point. The author of the article, by doing so, wishes to be able to supply the theatre people who are to stage this play, or the teachers who want to use the play in their educational activities, with some dramaturgical hints or starting points.
