Abstract :This article aims to present the place of Tarık Zafer Tunaya within the Turkish Political History. There is no doubt that the personality and the works of Tunaya has been very influential in the development of an intellectual generation that included, among others, leading academicians like Mete Tunçay, Zafer Toprak, Sina Akşin and Şükrü Hanioğlu. This article gives not only a summary of Tunaya`s life story, but also the background of his academic studies.
