Abstract :For years, scholars have extensively studied the landscape of journalism in the Arab world and its practices. While they have largely focused on political reporting,science journalism in the region still remains a less explored territory. Despite thesignificant role of science in the history and development of Arab societies, whatrole do science journalists play in the region? What are the key characteristics andcontributions of science journalism in the Middle East and North Africa? To addressthese questions, Science journalism in the Arab world: The Quest for ‘Ilm’ and Truthwritten by Abdullah Alhuntushi and Jairo Lugo-Ocando offers a comprehensiveanalysis of science journalism in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.This book published in 2023, has ten chapters, spread across 265 pages, andattempts to describe and evaluate the current state of science journalism in theregion and its contribution in the development of Arab societies.
