Abstract :Achieving scientific expertise is not possible without immersion in the culture of research. For graduate students, engaging in this culture involves not only acquiring academic knowledge but also developing a deep understanding of how scientific knowledge is constructed. Designed as a qualitative phenomenology study, this research aims to explore graduate students’ perspectives on scientific research through the lens of their experiences during the process of information seeking. The study group consists of 16 graduate students enrolled in the Social Studies Education programs at Ordu University, Balıkesir University, and Süleyman Demirel University during the 2024-2025 academic year. Data was collected through interviews and analysed using content analysis to enable systematic coding and interpretation. The findings were synthesized under key themes, including prioritization within the research process, sources of information, perceptions of competence, emotional and cognitive challenges encountered, and perceived professional gains. Based on these results, the study offers several recommendations for researchers and practitioners. Keywords : Bilimsel araştırma süreçleri, sosyal bilgiler, lisansüstü eğitim
