Abstract :The curvature of the frontal bone is usually expressed by the ratio of the measurements of the frontal arc to the frontal chord or by the frontal curvature angle. The present work was undertaken for the purpose of determining the degree of frontal curvature by the coordinate caliper in Ottoman skulls and to determine the relation of frontal curvature to metopism. The material consists of 77 male and 53 female skulls dating from Ottoman Period. Metopic suture although the value of frontal curvature angle and the frontal chord is lower, frontal subtense and the frontal index appears to be higher in female and male individuals with metopic suture.
