Abstract :This study investigates whether workplace romance (performance decline, problematic relationship management, and increased individual success) varies across demographic factors such as gender, marital status, age, education level, tenure, income level, service area, and job title. A field study was conducted with 393 employees in various positions within the Turkish aviation sector, yielding significant findings regarding the impact of workplace romance on employees\\\' job performance and interpersonal relationships. The analysis results indicate that male employees experience workplace romance more intensely than their female counterparts, and single employees are more inclined towards workplace romance than married employees. Workplace romance was found to be more prevalent among younger employees and those with lower education and income levels, with these groups experiencing greater performance declines and difficulties in relationship management due to workplace romance. Ground services employees and those in technical positions are more affected by the negative impact of workplace romance on job performance. In light of these findings, it is recommended that organizations develop strategies such as training and awareness programs, social support mechanisms, and mentorship systems to minimize the negative effects of workplace romance and improve employee productivity. The study highlights the importance of considering the demographic variations in workplace romance and its effects on job performance and relationships, suggesting that this perspective can significantly contribute to the development of organizational management policies.
