Abstract :The design and construction of houses has played a crucial role in the development of architecture over the years. These structures, which are tailored to the needs of the occupants, local region, climate, and geography, serve as the primary dwelling for people for a significant portion of their lives. With the emergence of new technologies, both the techniques and materials used in the construction of houses have undergone significant changes. However, recent studies have suggested that the materials used in modern houses are detrimental to both human health and quality of life. This paper aims to investigate the use of materials in traditional houses that prioritize public health, as well as the transformation of balconies - which provide a connection between the interior and exterior of houses - from their use in traditional housing to their current implementation in contemporary housing. Finally, the importance of balconies, which are increasingly absent in modern houses, will be explored in relation to both human wellbeing and architecture.
