Abstract :The aim of this study is to reveal the views of pre-service Turkish teachers in terms of the speed reading. To that extent, case study design was adopted in the research. The study group consists of 85 3rd and 4th grade pre-service teachers from a state university in the West of Turkey. A semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool in the research. The descriptive analysis method was used in the data analysis of the research. Accordingly, speed reading is a requisite in Turkish teacher education. Most of the pre-service teachers consider speed reading as an essential ability. Some participants stated that they had a high concentration level when reading. The participants claim that speed reading will improve their exam performance, allow them to save time and, to read more books, and it will also contribute them in their future professions.
