Abstract :Parsley insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(~etrosclimnn crispurn); is one of the plants used in Turkey and World folk medicine for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. In this study, oral administration of parsley leaves and seed aqueous extracts insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(2gkg); and methanolic extracts insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(200mgkg and 400mg/kg);, to normal rabbits produced significant hypoglycemic activity, which was consistent and time-dependent. Many plant species are known to be medically used for the treatment of diabetes due to their hypogiycemic activities insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(1-6);. Scientifically documented plants with an hypoglycemic activity have been reviewed recently insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(7-1 1);. Petroselinrrm crisplmt insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(parsley); is widely disributed in Turkey and this plant is grown in garden and field. In folk medicine, the plant is used as antimicrobial insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(12);, antianemic, menorrhagic insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(13);, against lumbago, as blood pressure regulator, anticoagulant, antihyperlipidemic, against eczema, kneeache, impotence insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(14);, nose bleeding insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(15); and as antihepatotoxic insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(16);.Keywords : Parsley, Petroselinum crispum, Antidiabetic effect
