Abstract :Aim: Paramedics are an indispensable part of emergency healthcare in pre-hospital and hospital settings and are often the first-contact healthcare professionals. The mission they perform includes human aid and first response. They also face the possibility of violence due to the urgency of both their duty positions and the patients they serve. Our study examined paramedic students\\\' perceptions of their profession before graduation and their concerns about the profession and workplace violence. Methots: This research was conducted as a descriptive cross-sectional and descriptive survey study in order to investigate the expectations and concerns of the First and Emergency Aid program students regarding their professions. A total of 11 questions were applied to the survey, three of which were demographic questions (age, gender, class) and 8 of which were related to the research topic. Results:The vast majority (87.6%) of 129 participants chose the profession willingly. 56.6% of the participants chose this profession to help people, and 47.3% chose it because of financial return or job guarantee. The vast majority of participants (86.8%) stated that they wanted to practice their profession in the future. Male participants are less concerned about working conditions. Participants of both genders see that the female gender is more likely to be subjected to workplace violence in the profession. Conclusion; As a result, students choose this profession mainly to help people. Although less so, a job guarantee is another reason to choose this profession. Despite all this, the possibility of workplace violence in health care, working conditions, and lack of financial return constitute students\\\' concerns about this profession. Keywords : Paramedik, öğrenci, meslek algısı, sağlıkta şiddet
