Abstract :ÖZET Hiç kuşkusuz antibiyotikler özellikle enfeksiyon hastalıklarının tedavisinde elimizde bulunan en etkin araçlardandır. Fakat sıklıkla gereksiz veya yanlış uygulanmaktadır. Bilinçsiz kullanılmaları yalnız kullanan kişiye değil toplum için zararlı sonuçlar doğurur. Bu bakımdan her hekim antibiyotiklerin hangi durumlarda kullanılmayacağını ve nasıl kullanılması gerektiğini çok iyi bilmek zorundadır. SUMMARY Antibiotics are one of the most effective agents available against infectious diseases. However, most often they are used improperly. The consequences of this improper utilization are hazardous not only to the individual who has taken the drug, but also to the whole community. A medical doctor should be alert for this danger and should know very well when to use the antibiotics and when not to.
