Abstract :ÖZET   Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, Başkent Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi öğrencilerinin stres düzeylerinin belirlenmesi ve strese neden olan faktörlerin incelenmesidir. Materyal ve Metod: Çalışmaya katılan ve henüz mezun olmamış 2013-2014 akademik yılında okuyan öğrencilerden Modifiye Edilmiş Diş Hekimliği Çevresel Stres Anketi [Dental Environment Stress Questionnaire/DES]’ni cevaplamaları istenmiştir (n=186). Elde edilen veriler istatistiksel olarak analiz edilmiştir (p<0,05). Bulgular: Bu çalışmanın sonuçları, öğrencilerin DES skorlarının okudukları sınıfa ve klinik öncesi/klinik sınıflarda olup olmamalarına göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılıklar göstermiştir (p<0,05). Cinsiyet farklılığının stres seviyesi üzerine herhangi bir etkisi gözlenmemiştir (p>0,05). Sonuç: Yaptığımız bu çalışma diş hekimliği öğrencile- rinin stres düzeylerinin okudukları sınıf ve programın hangi aşamasında oldukları ile bağlantılı olduğunu göstermiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Stres, Diş Hekimliği Eğitimi THE EVALUATION OF PERCEIVED SOURCES OF STRESS IN DENTAL FACULTY STUDENTS ABSTRACT   Aim: The purpose of this study was to examine the stress sources and levels among dental students studying in Başkent University Faculty of Dentistry. Material and Method: The modified Dental Environment Stress (DES) questionnaire was administered to all undergraduate students during the 2013-2014 academic year (n=186). The data was statistically evaluated (p<0.05). Results: The results showed that the DES scores increased over the five-year period and significant differences were found between the preclinical and clinical students (p<0.05). There were no significant differences in stress perception between genders (p>0.05). Conclusions: The study demonstrated that the sources of stress in dental students varied according to their studying year and the place in their dentistry program.  Keywords: Stress, Dental Education
