Abstract :SUMMARY A research on the effects of Neodymium : YAG laser to retina The posterior segments of four eyes of two pigmented and two albino rabbits were treated with Nd : YAG laser, and studied fundoscopically and histopathologically. After Nd : YAG applications fundosoopy revealed intraretinal, preretinal and intravitreal hemorrhagie. Fundus fluorescein angiography results showed marked leakage of dye into the vitreus. Histopathologic studies manifested full thickness destruction of retina and choroid. In Nd : YAG treatment, safety distance to retina was found to be 3 mm. Özet İki albino ve iki pigmentli tavşanın dört gözünün posterior segmentine Nd : YAG laser uygulanmış, fundoskopik ve histopatolojik çalışmalar ya¬pılmıştır. Nd : YAG laser uygulamasından sonra fundoskopide intraretinal, preretinal ve intravitreal hemorajî izlenmiştir. Fundus fluoressein anjio¬grafi neticelen vitreus içine belirgin boya sızıntısı göstermiştir. Histopa¬tolojik çalışmalar, retina ve koroideada tüm tabakalarda harabiyet göster¬mektedir, Nd : YAG laser tedavisinde retina`ya olan emniyet mesafesi 3 mm. olarak bulunmuştur.
