Abstract :SUMMARY The Effect of Wood Dust on the Nasal Mucosa. The effect of wood dust on the mucous lining of the nose is investigated with nasal smear and nasal biopsy in woodworkers. Severe mucostasis, metaplasia and dysplasia are the most prominent findings. This study revealed that wood dust is a chronic irritative agent for nasal mucosa. ÖZET Odun tozunun nazal mukoza üzerine etkileri, kereste işinde çalışanlarda araştırılmış, gerek fizik muayene bulguları, gerekse nazal simir ve nazal mukoza biyopsilerinde ileri derecede mukostazis, metaplazi ve displazi gö¬rülmüştür. Bu bulgularla, odun tozlarının, nazal mukoza için son derece irritatif bir madde olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır
