Abstract :SUMMARY THE PROPHYLACTIC USE OF PIPERACILLIN IN PATIENTS WITH UROLITHIASIS UNDERGOING OPEN UROLOGIC SURGERY Thirty-five non-infected patients with urolithiasis undergoing open urologic surgery received piperacillin sodium preoperatively 2 gr and posetoperatively 4 gr. The efficacy of this antibiotic regimen in decreasing the risk of postoperative urinary infection was reviewed. Postoperative urinary infection occured in 1 patient insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(2.86%); in the prophylaxy group compared with 4 patients insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(22.22%); in the control group. But the difference between two groups was- not statistically important. ÖZET Üriner sistem taş hastalığı nedeniyle açık cerrahi girişim uygu¬lanan ve üriner sistem enfeksiyonu olmayan 35 olguya profilaktik olarak preoperatif 2 gr ve postoperatif 4 gr piperasilin sodyum verildi. Postoperatif üriner enfeksiyon gelişme riski üzerine etkisi araştırıldı. Profilaksi grubunda 1 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(%2.86); olguda postope¬ratif üriner enfeksiyon görülürken, kontrol grubunda bu sayı 4 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(%22.22);`dü. Fakat her iki grup arasındaki fark istatistiksel olarak önemli değildi.
