Abstract :New synthetic absorbable dexon and vicryl stures were used in 20 cataract and 20 strabismus operations in our clinic, and they were compared with chromic catgut and virgin silk for side effects and the results. It was found that if selected cataract operation tecnique was performed and in strabismus surgery these new su¬tures have some advantages to virgin silk and chromic catgut.
