Abstract :MATERNAL HYPERTANSION AND NEONATAL NEUTROPENIA. ✓ Maternal hypertension effects the hematopoietic system of fetus. In this study, total white blood cell, polymorphonuclear leukocytes and lymphocytes count were compared in two groups of newborns. First group included 37 newborns whose mothers had hypertension during preg¬nancy insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(n=37);, and, control group consisted of 40 newborns whose mothers were normotensive. All newborns were mature and their birth weights were above 2500 gr. Blood samples were col¬lected after 12 hours from delivery. The diagnosis of hypertension was based on two recordings, obtained at least six hours apart, of a diastolic blood pressure above 90 mmHg or a systolic blood pressure above 140 mmHg. Mean polymorphonuclear leukocytes was significantly low in the first group insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(9800+3300);, in relate to control group insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(13300+4300); insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(p<0,001);. Neutropenia was determined in nine newborns insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(24,3 %);. Gebelerdeki hipertansiyon fetusun tüm vücut sistemlerini olduğu gibi, hemopoetik sistemini de etkilemektedir. Bu araştırmada hipertansif ve normotansif annelerden doğan bebeklerde 12. saatte sayılan beyaz küre, polimorfonükleer lökosit ve lenfosit değerleri karşılaştırıldı. Gebelerde hipertansiyon tanısı, alü saat ara ile en az iki kez ölçülen sistolik kan basıncının 140 mmHg ya da diastolik kan basıncının 90 mmHg üzerinde olması ile konuldu. Çalışma grubuna hipertansif annelerden doğan 37 bebek alındı. Kontrol grubunda normotansif annelerden doğan 40 bebek yer aldı. Tüm bebekler miadındaydı ve doğum ağırlıkları 2500 gr üzerindeydi. Ortalama polimor¬fonükleer lökosit sayısı çalışma grubunda insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(9800+3300); kontrol grubuna insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(13300+4300); göre düşük bulundu insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(p<0.001);.
