Abstract :Postinfarction Ventricular Septal Defect $/ Between November 1992 and July 1993, two consecutive patients underwent surgical re¬pair of a postinfarction ventricular septal defect. The operations were performed 12 hours to 64 days after the acute myocardial infarction. Our operative technique consists of a transinfarction incision in the left ventricle, placement of a Dacron fabric patch that co¬vers all the infarcted septum and closes the ventricular septal defect. One of the patients died within 2 days due to cerebral haemorrhage. The survivor is in NYHA class I and re¬ceiving minimal therapy. Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Hastanesi`nde Kasım 1992-Temmuz 1993 arasındaki dönemde postinfarktüs ventriküler septal defekt insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PIVSD); tanısı ile iki vakaya cerrahi müdahale yapıldı. Akut Myokard infarktüsü insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(AMİ); ile cerrahi girişim arasında geçen süre bir olguda 12 saat, diğerinde 64 gündür. Vakalarda, PIVSD`ye sol venrikül nekrotik duvarından uygulanan bir ventrikülotomi ile ulaşıldı. Ventriküler septumun sol tarafında infarkte septumu kaplayacak şekilde yerleştirilen bir Dakron yama ile PIVSD kapatıldı. Erken dönemde vakalardan biri, serebral kanama nedeni ile kaybedildi. Diğer vakanın yapılan kontrollerde Newyork Heart Association insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(NYHA); sınıflamasına göre class I`de yaşamını sürdürdüğü saptandı.
