The Effect of Different Light Sources and Artificial Colour Treatments on Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) Seedling Growth Parameters

Abstract :In this study, the effects of different growing periods insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(autumn and spring);, 3 different light sources insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(high pressure sodium lamp insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(HPS);, incandescent lamp insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ATL); and light emitting diode insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(LED);); and two different colours insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(blue and red); on the seedling quality of eggplant were examined in detail. In this analyses, leaf weight ratio insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(LWR);, stem weight ratio insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(SWR);, root weight ratio insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(RWR);, leaf area insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(LA);, leaf thickness insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(LT);, leaf area ratio insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(LAR); and specific leaf area insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(SLA); parameters were determined. According to the analysis, RWR 0.12-0.21 g/g, SWR 0.29-0.36 g/g, LWR 0.50-0.57 g/g, LA 23.56-46.45 cm², LAR 435.53-614.47, SLA 851.98-1161.61 and LT 0.0009-0.0012 values were changed in autumn. In addition to during the spring, RWR 0.09-0.20 g/g, SWR 0.23-0.49 g/g, LWR 0.41-0.53 g/g, LA 29.69-58.58 cm², LAR 273.18-427.57, SLA 636.63-1036.98 ve LT 0.0010-0.0016 values were changed depending on the different light sources and their different colours. In this research was detected that became prominent in terms of features such as body diameter and number of leaves of light source in the seedling analyzed quantitatively. As to HPS and LED implementation, it was detected to have an effect on the increasing number of flowers in eggplant. In research with artificial light implementation it was ascertained that stem weight ratio and leaf weight ratio increased. Research results; in eggplant spring season cultivated through blue light implementations, seedling root length, root dry weight, plant dry weight and leaf thickness were ascertained to reach to the peak value and to be advisable.Keywords : Sera, Fide, Yapay ışıklandırma, Işık rengi, Büyüme, Kantitatif
