Abstract :This research was carried out to determine simple correlations between seed yield and some yield components and direct and indirect effects of these characters on seed yield in summer rapeseed. This research was conducted with six nitrogen doses under Konya conditions during 2004-2005. Seed yield, plant height, branch number per plant, pod number per plant, pod lenght, seed number per pod and thousand seed weight were observed in 0,30, 60, 90, 120 and 150 kg ha-1nitrogen applications. According to the results, while the correlation coefficients were found significantly positive between seed yield and plant height insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(r= 0.363*);, number of pods per plant insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(r=0.501**);, number of seed per pod insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(0.328*); and nitrogen doses insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(r=0.370*); datas number of lateral branching, lenght of pod and 1000 seed weight were found positive but insignificant. Path analysis indicated that the number of pods per plant had the greatest direct effect insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(r=0.501**);, followed by ni-trogen dose insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(r=0.370*);, plant height insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(r=0.363*); and number of seeds per pod insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(r= 0.328*);. Direct effects on seed yield were 60.68%, 40.14%, 15.64%, 10.75%, respectively for the number of pods per plant , nitrogen dose, plant height, and number of seeds per pod . Number of pods per plant and branch number per plant have priority both direct effects and indirect effects on seed yield through the other characteristics. According to the results, nitrogen doses not only effect the seed yield but also effect the correlations between yield and yield components.
