Abstract :Aim : The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between anthropometric measurements, laboratory data, body impedance analyzer parameters and body image in individuals with metabolic syndrome. Materials and Methods: This descriptive and cross-sectional study included 298 individuals over the age of 18 who applied to XXX Internal Medicine Polyclinics and were diagnosed with metabolic syndrome. Sociodemographic data, anthropometric measurements, body analyzer measurements and laboratory data of the individuals were recorded. The body perception status of the individuals was evaluated using the “Body Image Scale”. Findings: The mean age of the 289 participants diagnosed with metabolic syndrome was 57.0 ± 12.0 years. Female gender, presence of chronic disease, advanced age, waist circumference, waist/hip ratio, BMI, body fat ratio, visceral fat percentage, glucose and triglyceride levels were correlated with negative body image. Satisfaction with physical appearance was higher in men and body perception scale scores were also higher. Conclusion: Individuals need to have sufficient self-confidence and self-efficacy for public health. An individual with sufficient self-esteem can only contribute positively to society. In this context, it is very important to identify the factors affecting self-esteem and take precautions. Keywords : metabolik sendrom, Beden İmajı Ölçeği, biyoelektriksel impedans analizi
