Abstract :For those trapped in devastating disasters such as earthquakes, communication skills are also of vital importance, along with the need for air and water. Therefore, communication tools, especially social media, play a critical role in saving lives during disasters. In particular, the fact that social media channels, in addition to their role in saving lives, can also mediate significant amounts of disinformation necessitates that this issue be addressed as a problem. The current study discusses the form and necessity of a collaborative communication model that can be used against disinformation that can disrupt communication during disasters. Thus, it is intended to make a conceptual contribution to the development of a communication model that will have a positive impact on the success of crisis management. In the study conducted with the literature review technique, one of the qualitative research methods, the collected data were grouped and analyzed in a way to obtain a real result. According to the results, crisis management is significantly affected by disinformation anxiety. This anxiety prevents social media from being seen as a reliable source of information. In addition, commercial conflicts of interest also prevent the necessary collaborations in times of disaster. In order to facilitate the access of those in need of emergency assistance, the information and communication technological infrastructure should be strengthened in a way that can be used effectively by all parties in times of disaster.
