The Seasonal Distribution of Molluscan (Bivalvia and Gastropoda) Biodiversity in Riva Stream (Istanbul)

Abstract :Mollusk samples were collected between March 2018 and January 2019 through seasonal sampling at five stations [Riva insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ST1);, Kuzdere insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ST2);, Kanlıdere insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ST3);, Atdosun insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ST4);, Değirmendere insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ST5);] of Riva Stream insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Istanbul);. In the study, 7,073 individuals, 7 taxa [1 species belonging to Prosobranchia insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Bithynia sp.);, 3 species belonging to Pulmonata insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Planorbis planorbis insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Linnaeus, 1758);, Physella acuta insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Draparnaud, 1805); and Gyraulus albus insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(O. F. Müller, 1774); and 3 species belonging to Bival-via [Pisidium casertanum insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Poli 1791);, Pisidiumamnicum insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Muller, 1774); and Sphaerium corneuminsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Linnaeus, 1758);] were determined. Considering the dominance insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(%); of taxa, Bithynia sp. was deter-mined as the most dominant species among all stations insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(5,479 individuals insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(77.46%););. During sam-pling, various environmental variables [depth insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(cm);, width insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(cm);, flow rate insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(m/s);, water temperature insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(oC);, dissolved oxygen insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(%);, pH, conductivity insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(μS/cm);, salinity insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ppm);, NH4-N insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(mg/L);, NO3-N insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(mg/L);, NO2-N insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(mg/L);, PO4-P insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(mg/L);, TP insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(mg/L); and TSS insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(g/L);] were measured. The relationship between environmental variables and taxa was determined using Canonical Correspondence Analysis insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(CCA); using the Past Statistics Program, version 4.02. The clustering relationship between the five sam-pling stations and the unweighted pair group method insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(UPGMA); with arithmetic mean was shown.
