Abstract :Marmara Bölgesi\\\'nde uzun süredir ticari olarak yetiştirilen ve \\\"Pala\\\" adıyla bilinen, ancak saf bir çeşitle ıslah edilmeyen yerli bir patlıcan çeşidi, 1973 yılında Yalova Bahçe Kültürleri Araştırma Enstitüsü\\\'nde ıslah çalışmalarına dahil edildi. Bireysel bitki seçimi yoluyla bu çeşit, 1975 yılı sonuna kadar üç yıl boyunca saf bir hatla ıslah edildi ve \\\"Yalova 49\\\" adını aldı.
