Abstract :1970’lerden 2020’lere geldiğimizde Almanya ve Türkiye’de üretilen filmlerde göç olgusu sık sık tasvir edilerek “görsel kültürde göç” için tarihsel bir bağlam sağlanmıştır. Alkın’ın çalışması Türk ve Alman sinemasına da mesafeli bir şekilde eleştirel yaklaştığı için adil bir duruşa sahiptir. Böyle bir tutum çalışmanın kendisini ulusalcı bakışın ötesinde kültürler arası ve ulus ötesi, esnek bir coğrafyanın ürünü hâline getirmektedir. Ayrıca tarihsel ve analitik süreç içerisinde estetik ve kültürel ögelerin çok merkezli ve kapsamlı bir şekilde ele alınması kitabı önemli kılmaktadır.
