Abstract :Tungsten carbides insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(WC); coatings have been deposited by RF magnetron sputtering onto steel substrate insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(XC70); temperature in the range of 500-1000 °C under vacuum for 25 minutes. The mechanical properties of WC were investigated by the measurements of microhardness by Vickers tests. We carried out microhardness tests with loads varying between 10 g and 1000 g, and the variations of the microhardness of our samples were followed as a function of the annealing temperature, the applied load and the penetration depth of the indenter.
