Abstract :The development of maritime transport and trade has a positive effect on tugboat operations in the seas day by day. The existence of tugboats with improved functional features and diversified propulsion systems in ports, canals, and platform support operations has created a new lane in the shipbuilding industry. In this study, developing tugboat technology and propulsion systems are discussed and current developments are emphasized. Also, in this study, open water characteristics will be obtained from a sample tugboat ASD system.
