Abstract :Ahmet Faraz Urdu dilinin son yüzyılda yetiştirdiği en önemli şairlerden biridir. Asıl adı Seyit Ahmet Şah’tır ve şiirlerinde Faraz mahlasını kullanır. Ülkesi Pakistan’ın yaşamış olduğu çeşitli siyasi istikrarsızlıklar onun şiirine yansımış, gazel türünü kullanarak Urduca protest şiire ilk ve en güzel örneklerini vermiştir.
