Abstract :Consumption is one of the economic phenomena that has developed significantly after the industrial revolution. Among the problems caused by this phenomenon are resource scarcity, environmental pollution, the emergence of false needs and the increase in individual and social misbehaviors such as waste. Today, as a result of the manipulation of real needs, the phenomenon of unconscious and unnecessary consumption has emerged. Therefore, addressing this problem and producing possible solutions will relieve both the individual and the society. The aim of this study is to emphasize the necessity and importance of reforming consumption models in society and to emphasize the necessity and importance of change in consumption models on social grounds. First of all, it should be said that the study has a quality that will prepare the ground for field studies. In terms of methodology, the study was designed on the basis of content analysis, employing literature and document review. The preliminary impression of the study is that reforming consumption models improves life, reduces costs, provides a basis for the spread and increase of justice, and ensures the correct use of existing resources and reserves as much as possible by institutionalizing properly. Moreover, the correct distribution of resources will lead to progress and development. The construction of the necessary consumption models will play a facilitating role in the lives of individuals, especially families, and society as a whole.Keywords : Tüketim, Tüketim Modelleri, Modern Toplum, Modernleşme, Küreselleşme.
