Abstract :The aim of the research was to determine the effectiveness of a song mapping method that was used while teaching the Turkish National Anthem to foreign students. In this method a map was prepared by the researchers. The research was carried out in line with the experimental model with pre-test, post-test and control group. The experiment was performed over the course of four weeks with 30 foreign students who were studying in a secondary school in Turkey. While the anthem was taught to the experimental group (n=15) by using the map, to the control group (n=15) it was taught only by echoing the teacher without using the map. The data was collected with a rubric that was developed by researchers. During the pre-test and post-test, the experts evaluated the experimental and control groups’ students’ anthem performances with this rubric. As a result of the research, it was seen that the training applied to the experimental group with the map was more effective than the training applied to the control group.Keywords : İstiklal marşı, müzik eğitimi, şarkı haritası, Türk milli marşı, görsel öğretim materyali
