Abstract :The identity of Yollïγ Tegin, mentioned in the Orkhon inscriptions, has been interpreted in various ways in previous studies, suggesting that he could be the son, grandson, relative, nephew, or cousin of Bilge Qaγan and Kül Tegin. This topic remains a subject of debate in contemporary Turcology circles. This article aims to reinterpret the identity of Yollïγ Tegin based on the phrase \\\'[...] Qaγan atïsï Yollïγ Tegin 𐰴𐰍𐰣: 𐱃𐰃𐰾𐰃: 𐰖𐰆𐰞𐰍: 𐱅𐰃𐰏𐰤 [...]\\\' from the Bilge Qaγan inscription, within the framework of Turkic kinship terminology and relevant historical records. Additionally, a reconstruction is proposed for the unreadable section preceding this phrase, which is damaged.
