Abstract :During global crises such as the Covid-19 pandemic, data journalism plays a critical role in public communication and political accountability. This study examines how data journalism practices varied across four countries—Russia, the United States, Italy, and Türkiye—by analyzing a sample of Covid-19-related news articles published in online newspapers during the peak mortality phase. This research focuses on five key elements: data visualizations, interactivity, source types, transparency, and data originality. Structured content analysis was employed to evaluate the practical application of these units, and country-specific experts reviewed the findings to ensure contextual accuracy. Intercoder reliability was tested using Cohen’s Kappa coefficient. The study reveals distinct national approaches to sourcing and presenting data, the degree of openness in data use, and the integration of interactive features. For example, while some media systems relied heavily on official data and static visuals, others adopted dynamic and exploratory formats. The findings contribute to comparative journalism research by highlighting the structural, political, and technological conditions that shape the evolution of data journalism in different national contexts. Keywords : Veri Gazeteciliği, Veri Görselleştirme, Açık Veri, İçerik Analizi, Etkileşim
