Abstract :How to capture the expression of sleep in a picture of a sleeping cat? By bringing your camera up close to the cat’s face, offers photographer Namık Görgüç (1895–1947), and focusing on the whiskers, just below the closed eyes. In doing so, he writes, “You will surely create a more dynamic scene than the distant and flat photograph you might take from the cushion across.”
