Abstract :In this study, The Little Mermaid, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, and The Twelve Dancing Princesses are analyzed comparatively to focus on how fairy tales affect the psychosexual identity and unconscious mind of women. The comparative reading of the texts illuminate the fact that fairy tales create a kind of hidden social contract between the society and the female world. Being captivated, being silent, the necessity of being beautiful, lack of freedom of speech, submissiveness and obeying the rules of the male world, the danger of rebellion are the items of the hidden social contract. The development of psychosexual identity and the unconscious mind of a woman are hidden in fairy tales.
