Abstract :Staff-centered design, especially nurse-centered design, has not received much attention in healthcare research, although the literature has acknowledged the value and restorative effects of well-designed nurse resting areas. Therefore, this study investigates the effects of interior design on nurses’ satisfaction, specifically in their resting areas. As the methodology of the research, the data were obtained through surveys, interviews, and observations. According to the result of the data, investigating nurses’ physical as well as psychological needs in their resting areas in terms of color, material, lighting, art objects, and relations with nature gives significant results to be considered by designers as well as healthcare authorities. The findings indicate that satisfaction and effectiveness can be increased by providing a desirable interior design infrastructure that satisfies nurses in their resting areas. This study has originality as it relies on the determination of the satisfaction level of nurses with several interior design parameters in their resting areas. The acquired insights are valuable for nursing and stakeholders in the healthcare sector. Designers and hospital management need to be aware of the appropriate interior design qualities of nurse resting areas, especially regarding color, materials, lighting, and the inclusion of artwork. Keywords : Sağlık iç Mekanı Dinlenme Alanları, Sağlık Çalışanları, Hemşire Memnuniyeti, Sağlık İç Mekan Tasarımı
