Abstract :Ruhollah Khomeini transformed Shiite political thought into a revolutionary ideology, shaping not only Iran but also the political and intellectual balance of the Islamic world. Iranian-German scholar Katajun Amirpur, professor of Islamic studies at the University of Cologne, argues that Western literature offers only limited insight into Khomeini’s personality; the purpose of this biographical work is to uncover his complex character.
