Abstract :In recent years, consumer protection—particularly financial consumer protection—has become a critical pillar of the increasingly interconnected financial ecosystem. Strengthening financial education, literacy, regulatory capacity, and the adoption of fintech solutions collectively underscores the need for a robust and coherent consumer protection framework. In this context, one of the most influential institutions is the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), a federal agency mandated to ensure fair treatment of financial consumers across all financial institutions. Since its establishment, the CFPB has generated a vast repository of consumer complaints, alongside a steadily expanding body of academic literature. This paper examines the existing literature on the CFPB to better understand its findings, implications, and methodological approaches. It also seeks to identify insights that may inform policymakers in diverse national contexts by leveraging the CFPB’s comprehensive consumer complaint data. With nearly four million complaints collected since 2011, this database offers a unique analytical sandbox for empirical exploration. Despite its clear relevance and potential value, however, the CFPB database remains underutilized and insufficiently represented in the academic literature—a gap this study aims to highlight. Keywords : Tüketici Şikayetleri, CFPB, Tüketicinin Korunması, Finansal Düzenlemeler
