Abstract :Creativity and innovation have recently proved to play a critical role in the activities that go on in the world especially teaching and learning in the post-pandemic era. However, some Ghanaian students seem to shelve modalities and procedures that enhance these vital elements. The current study aimed at enhancing students’ creativity and innovation through self-regulation. Specifically, the study examined students’ self- regulation levels and explored the relationship between the creativity and innovation of students and self-regulation. A descriptive survey was adopted for the study using a sample size of 385 students representing a survey population of 2 million respondents (Raosoft Sample Size Calculator, 2004). Data was collected using a questionnaire with r = .72 through online Google format because of the split location of respondents. The data were analysed using frequencies, percentages, Pearson product-moment r, mean, standard deviation, and independent sample t-test. The study found different levels (i.e., low, moderate, and severe) of self-regulation among students however, most students experienced moderate self-regulation. In addition, a significantly positive low relationship was found between students with moderate levels of self-regulation and their creativity and innovation. For gender differences, there was no significant difference between male and female students. Based on the findings, it was concluded that the average level of self-regulation displayed by most students, however, may have had an impact on or dictated the low degree. If the majority of students were exhibiting strong levels of self-regulation, the degree of relationship could be high. It was recommended that future researchers should conduct intervention studies to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions aimed at enhancing self-regulatory skills for fostering creativity and innovation. Test the impact of interventions, such as self-regulation training programmes or interventions targeting specific self-regulatory processes, on creative problem-solving and innovative behaviours. There could have been many incomplete questionnaire responses as a limitation. However, before submission, the questionnaire’s items were made required or restricted for respondents to only partially or completely respond.
